Lego’s brilliant, but never

Leave it on the floor,

As standing on it by mistake

Is really bloody sore. 😝

Toddler loves to play with it,

And will do so for hours.

They get so much enjoyment from

Building massive towers. 🤓

But, geezo, those folks at Lego

Do not miss a trick.

Have you seen the actual price

They charge for a few bricks??? 🤑

Today we all went on safari,

Wee one had a ball.

But we never would’ve guessed

What they’d like best of all. 🤔

Would it be the elephant?

Or maybe the giraffes?

The lions, or the monkeys, or

The newborn rhino calf? 🤭

…

Would it be the trip around

Chimp island in a boat?

Nope. Not even close. It turned out

To be the old goat! 😂

Our poor toddler’s feeling better.

(Not sure if Mummy would have made it

Through another day). 😬

Now we’re back to smiles all round.

Toddler’s eating tonnes.

Normal service has resumed,

And we are having fun. 😃

Amazing how our brain works though,

And we forget so fast.

Next week will be all about

Undoing what we’ve done,

As goodness knows how many bad

Habits we have begun. 😬

While our toddler had been ill

All bets have been right off.

We have spoiled them more and more

With every single cough. 😳

But we must pay the piper now,

Me thinks he won’t be cheap.

Let’s hope we haven’t dug ourselves

A hole that is too deep. 😱

What better way to cheer us up

Than retail therapy.

So that’s exactly what we’ve done,

We’ve booked a holiday. 😎

This week has been a wee bit shit.

Some moments have been dark.

But we won’t let it beat us. We are

Off to Centre Parcs. 😃

So as this week draws to a close,

At it you’ll hear us shout,

Turns out it is not just teeth,

It is a bug as well.

Then don’t, coz this is hell. 😷

We have had blood, sweat and tears,

(And that has just been me).

But one good thing about this week,

And what it’s had in store,

When it’s back to normal

I’ll appreciate it more. 😬

Today has been delightful! (Sense

Toddler’s been a poor wee soul,

As they are cutting teeth. 😫

Coupled with the lack of sleep,

They’re in a lot of pain.

And freaking out’s the only way

That they have to complain. 😭

And so tonight, if they’re to get

Any sleep at all,

We must get the big guns out:

Crack open the Calpol. 😇

It seems that we are destined to

Repeat our history.

With what our children like, we are

Unlikely to agree. 🙄

If there is a video

With an annoying beat,

That will be the one that toddler’s

Playing on repeat. 🤯

Could it be my karma for my

Teenage years perchance?

When my poor parents had to put up

With the birth of dance. 😏

The tutorial is finished and it

Seems we have begun,

The seriously challenging,

Frustrating level one. 🤨

Now we have to figure out

How to level up,

And levels will get so much tougher

As our kid grows up. 😬

We know that this is not a game,

But we must play to win,

As on their 13th birthday, the

Boss battle will begin. 😱

Today, folks, I was THAT mummy,

The one who’s in the shop

Dragging round a child who’s freaking

Out and just won’t stop. 😳

Nothing would calm toddler down,

Not even my phone!

And it was really helping hearing

Other people groan. 🙄

So the next time I see the same

Thing I’m going to say,

“I know how you’re feeling. That was
